The disorder should not be confused with phobia where a person’s fear is connected to something specific. With GAD, there is a general feeling of uneasiness without any particular cause. While the intensity is a lot lesser compared to that of a panic attack, GAD symptoms last longer. This then results to the inability to concentrate or even to relax.
Individuals with this disorder worry about the same things like most normal people but they have a tendency to take the worrying to a whole new level — a more intense level for that matter.
